Claude Puel says concentration will be key for Southampton against Watford, and throughout the month of March.

Saints play just two games this month – against Watford and Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 19th, and Puel knows the importance of maintaining focus.

His side head into the Watford game sat 13th in the table, and with a fixture pile-up expected in April, he believes Saints must be ready to give a good response.

“It’s important for us to prepare for this game with a good concentration and a good focus, to maintain our play from the final,” he told southamptonfc.com.

“It’s important to continue this good work and just to stay with a good concentration about this game.

“After we have two weeks without a game, and this is very difficult.

“We would like to stay with a good feeling, because we know after this game we have a difficult calendar for concentration.

“We have two games this month and then in April we play every three days – it’s crazy, but it’s a good challenge.

“All of the squad must be ready to give a good answer.”

And what sort of test can his side expect from Watford this weekend? “They are a difficult team,” Puel added.

“They have good closing of the lines and they are physically very strong in their play.

“It’s always difficult to play against this team, because they have a good counter and like direct play.”
