Fraser Forster knows Wembley Stadium as well as anyone at Southampton, but even for him this trip will feel different.
The Saints keeper has been a regular visitor to the famous ground with England, but will now be heading there with his club side for Sunday’s EFL Cup final.
"Wembley is one of the most iconic stadiums in the UK and in the world,” said Forster.
“It's a fantastic achievement to get there. I've been fortunate to play there with England, and it is such a unique place to go and play football, but for me it will be a different feeling going with my club side, and obviously with our fans' backing.
“It will be a really special day.”
That backing of the fans – with more than 32,000 Saints supporters due to be in attendance – will be huge for the team, Forster believes.
"They can have a massive impact,” he said. “The fans have been awesome, and at a cup final you need all the support you can get.
“There's no doubt that they'll be like a 12th man, helping us through and giving us that little bit more energy. They can play a huge part in that final.”
