Oriol Romeu rates Manchester United boss José Mourinho as one of the best in the world, but has every confidence that Southampton can overcome his team in the EFL Cup final.

Romeu knows Mourinho well from his time at Chelsea, where they worked together for a spell, but they will have competing interests at Wembley.

"He's an amazing coach – one of the best in the world, no doubt,” said Romeu.

“His teams are always difficult to beat, they are always well organised and very solid and it will be a tough game.

“They know how to play these games, they are very clever, they have experience of playing these kind of games, but we believe in ourselves and we believe in our qualities and we know we can do great things.

“They have some very good players who we have to face and play against with our best strengths, and hopefully we can do better than them.”
