Ollie Cook is confident Southampton Under-23s will be able to return to winning ways when they face Bristol City in the Premier League Cup.
Saints travel to Twerton Park for the group encounter on Thursday, having suffered a 1-0 defeat against Swansea City in the same competition at the beginning of the week.
“It’s a big game now in the group,” explained Cook.
“There’s only two left so it’s a really big game for us and a great opportunity to bounce back quickly after Swansea.
“We’ve made sure we’ve nailed our recovery and got our minds and bodies set, so the quick turnaround is good for us to get back out there and show what we can really do.”
The Robins ran out 2-1 victors when they visited Staplewood Campus back in September, as Shawn McCoulsky’s brace secured the win.
And Cook knows Saints will have to be on the right side of the scoreline this time around if they are to keep their hopes of qualification alive.
“For us, it’s trying to return the favour,” he continued.
“They beat us at our place back in September so it’s down to us now to go there and pick up a win at theirs.
“They will be a physical side but will mix it up between playing and going long, so we need to match them and dictate the play.”
