Olufela Olomola is expecting a clash of similar styles at Staplewood this evening, when Southampton Under-23s host their Swansea City counterparts.

Martin Hunter’s men beat the Swans 1-0 in the reverse Premier League Cup fixture in Wales, and victory this time around would propel them towards qualification from the group.

“Swansea are a good side,” started Olomola.

“We remember from playing them last time that they like to get it down and play football, so it will be a very technical game.

“We were compact and dealt with their pressure well that day. We are a team that also like to play football so it will be a contest to see who can do it better.”

Olomola has been missing from action since the beginning of December, when he hobbled off with an early injury against Sunderland.

But 19-year-old has returned and impressed in the past two matches against Tottenham and Leicester, as he now aims to complete his recovery.

“It was great to be back out there,” he continued.

“To help the team get good results and show the managers again what I can do. My aim is just to keep getting fitter and get my match sharpness up.

“I think there is always room for improvement, but I am just getting myself back into it. I played nearly my first 90 minutes against Leicester, so hopefully I will be able to do that on Monday.”
