Manolo Gabbiadini says he’s settled into life with Southampton better than he ever could have expected.
The striker, who arrived on deadline day in January from Italian club Napoli, has scored three goals in two games for Claude Puel’s side.
Goals two and three arrived in Saturday’s fine win over Sunderland, and the Italian striker says he’s delighted with the way he’s adjusting to life in England.
“I have settled in my better than I thought I ever could, and that is because of the support of my teammates and the staff at the club,” Gabbiadini said.
“I am very happy with the first two games and I hope I can continue this and settle with my new teammates and my new club even more.”
Saints now have a huge cup final against Manchester United to look forward to, and while Gabbiadini is excited about the prospect of playing at Wembley, he heaped praise on his teammates for the opportunity.
“I’m very happy that the next game we play is going to be at Wembley. I of course have to thank my teammates because I have just arrived,” he added.
“They did everything to get to this final. I’m very happy I am here for this moment.
“It is going to be a tough match, because Manchester United is a very good team, but I hope that we can win the game. It will be amazing to win this trophy.”
