Claude Puel will give his players a few days of rest before the build-up to the EFL Cup final begins.
Saints' final game before their Wembley showdown with Manchester United saw them thrash Sunderland 4-0, at the Stadium of Light.
Puel has rewarded his squad with the next couple of days off, before they head back to Staplewood Campus to crank up their preparations for the final in two weeks' time.
"We can prepare now for the next game with calm and quality," he said. "For the moment, we will take four days off.
"It is a good reward for all the squad, because we played since the beginning of the season every three days. This is the first time we can have four days off and we can appreciate this.
"Of course, it's easier to prepare for the final with a good result, with good spirit, with calm and a good attitude.
"It was very important to win this game, but it's just one game and it will be important to build on this.
"Now we have got to prepare for the final. It's an exciting game of course, but we are not favourites – that is Manchester United.
"We just have to focus on our play, try to play good football with our spirit, and we will see. In football, and we saw this against Liverpool, all is possible."
