Get set for Southampton's home Premier League clash against West Ham United with our comprehensive match preview.

Saints return to St Mary’s looking to respond after a disappointing night against Swansea City on Tuesday.

Shane Long continued on the goal trail to level things at 1-1, but Gylfi Sigurdsson’s strike proved the difference at the Liberty Stadium.

Just one place and one point separate Claude Puel’s men and visitors West Ham, who have been in mixed form of late.

Back-to-back Premier League successes against Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough were followed by a 4-0 home defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday night.

Southampton: Claude Puel has confirmed that he will be without Virgil van Dijk for two or three months.

West Ham United: Slaven Bilić has a clean bill of health for the trip to Southampton, with Sam Byram expected to recover from a hamstring problem in time to play.
