Claude Puel wants to see a fast start from his Southampton side when they take on West Ham United tomorrow.
Saints host the Hammers a few days on from losing 2-1 away to Swansea City, which marked a fifth defeat in their last six Premier League games.
Puel's men thrashed Premier League champions Leicester, 3-0, in their last top-flight outing at home, while they followed that up with their EFL Cup semi-final triumph at Anfield.
Since then, though, they have lost 5-0 to Arsenal in the FA Cup, while being beaten at Liberty Stadium.
Puel now wants to see a response, and a return to the sort of form they showed against the Foxes and the Reds.
"It's important to come back with a good start, a good first half," he said. "It was not this against Swansea. We produced a good second half there, but it was not sufficient.
"I think, of course, it's important to come back with good spirit, quality and to give pleasure to our fans with a good result.
"We have to produce a good reaction and a good answer in the Premier League. The contrast between the game against Liverpool, for example, and the game against Swansea, it's important to correct this."
