Kingsley Latham is the latest player to join the Southampton Football Club Academy.

The 18-year-old goalkeeper, who joins the club as a second-year scholar, has today completed his move from League Two side Yeovil Town.

The shot-stopper started his career with Torquay United before leaving to sign a scholarship with the Glovers.

He has now signed terms that will see him remain at Southampton until June 2018.

“It’s an opportunity that I want to grab with both hands,” started Latham.

“It’s a great honour to sign for such a big club with such a rich history of bringing young players through.

“I knew there was interest last month and have been down here for a few days and played a couple of games. But when I found out there was interest in signing me I knew I couldn’t miss out.”

“We are delighted to bring Kingsley in,” commented Academy Manager Matt Hale.

“He is a young goalkeeper with great potential, and someone we feel we can really work with and help develop over the next few years.

“He is a very switched on young lad and I am sure will be looking forward to coming in and working hard with Vince and the rest of the goalkeepers.”
