Southampton Under-23s striker Ryan Seager believes he is finally getting back to his normal self, after enduring an 11-month injury lay off.
The 20-year-old scored within minutes of making his return against Reading at the beginning of January, and is now keen to push on for game time.
“I am feeling back to normal now,” explained Seager.
“I started getting back into training just before Christmas and I didn’t feel fresh at all to begin with.
“But now I’ve had a good couple of weeks training and have played a couple of games, so I am feeling really fit.”
Seager got another half-hour of playing time under his belt against Arsenal in Saints’ previous league outing.
And with last week’s Premier League Cup tie against Bristol City called off due to a frozen pitch, he is raring to get back into the action on Monday night.
“We know Tottenham are a good footballing side,” he continued.
“It’ll be a tough game but I think all the boys will be raring to go after the Bristol game was cancelled – we just want to get back out there.
“We wanted to play and hopefully win that game, but it’s gone now and we’ve had a bit more of a rest and have been working hard in training for Monday.”
