Jay Rodriguez spoke of his delight for James Ward-Prowse, after seeing him find the back of the net against Leicester.
Ward-Prowse set Saints on their way to a 3-0 victory against the Foxes, as he produced a sublime strike for his second goal of the season.
Rodriguez extended the lead not long after, before Dušan Tadić wrapped things up with a late penalty.
"I was 100 per cent pleased for Prowsey,” said Rodriguez. “He's a good friend. I watch him in training and he probably works the hardest.
“I think he can score all different types of goals and I think now he'll kick on and score more.
"Everyone has faith in him, and he has belief in himself in what he can do, and the talent he's got, and I'm sure he's going to kick on.
“There's no pressure on him. He's a great lad, and he works 100 per cent every training session.”
England manager Gareth Southgate was among the crowd at St Mary’s to see both men score, but Rodriguez said a return to the international scene is not on his mind.
"I just concentrate on when I play, that's all,” he said. “As long as I can play, I'll let everything else look after itself.
“I've still got to improve massively on a lot of things and I'll continue to do that and work hard.”
