Cédric says Southampton will need to show strong character in their game against Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.

Saints will be looking for a first Premier League win of 2017 when they take on the Clarets this weekend, having recorded their first victory of the year in the EFL Cup against Liverpool on Wednesday night.

Sean Dyche’s side have been in good form at home this season, and Cédric says Saints must expect a difficult test.

“It’s a very tough game. We know all games are very difficult in the Premier League, but that’s how it is,” he said.

“We are used to that. Playing away at Burnley is very, very tough, but we are prepared.

“We have great players and if we think like a team and stay together, it will definitely make a difference.

“All the teams are difficult and when they play at home it’s even tougher.

“If we keep our strong mind and stay together, if we have this strong character, then we can achieve a good performance.

“We now need to win in the Premier League and then our confidence will be totally back.”
