McCarthy extends Walsall loan

Southampton’s Jason McCarthy has extended his loan spell with Walsall until the end of the season.

McCarthy, who joined the League 1 side on a temporary basis in the summer, has impressed during his time at the Bescot Stadium so far.

The defender has made 29 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals, and has helped Walsall to 14th in League 1 at the midway point of the season.

The 21 year-old is currently enjoying his second Football League loan spell, having enjoyed success with Wycombe Wanderers during the 2015/16 campaign.
