Southampton boss Claude Puel has issued an early team news update ahead of the visit of Tottenham Hotspur to St Mary’s in the Premier League.
Midfielder Jordy Clasie has picked up a groin injury and will be ruled out of the fixture.
“It’s a pity that Clasie has a groin pain and this is a difficulty for us," said Puel.
“It’s important to keep all the players with a good fit and to pass all these games with a good spirit, good fit and good results. This is not new for us.
Asked how long he will be without the Dutch international, Puel added: “I don’t know for the moment Perhaps around ten days. I hope.
“He come back in his last game with a good level, a good possibility and he can make progress with his control in front, with possibility to shoot.”
