Dušan Tadić believes Southampton’s performance at Bournemouth was the sort of all-round team display that they must continue to produce as the season unfolds.
Saints won 3-1 at Vitality Stadium on Sunday, with Ryan Bertrand on target before a Jay Rodriguez double, as Claude Puel’s side overcame Nathan Aké’s early header.
It was a controlled and accomplished display from the visitors, who showed plenty of threat, and Tadić believes they now have a platform from which to build.
“I think the beginning was not so good, but the second half was much better and this is how we should play,” he told the Southern Daily Echo.
“It is really important for us. We need to keep going and show every game that we can do good things. We need to work like a team. Only like that you can get results.
“Everyone was working, everyone was defending and everyone was attacking, and in the end you get a good result when you do that.
“I think it is important for everyone and we will look to prepare well for the next game.”
Tadić added: “We need to improve a few more things. Sometimes to play quicker and try to play more forwards. This is something where we can be much better. Maybe the final decision can be better also.
“It is important to keep winning games and then it will be different. We need to push ourselves and see what our limit is.
“We need to keep doing good in the Premier League, because we stay without Europe, and so we will need to prepare well and that’s it.”
