Claude Puel is expecting an entertaining game when Southampton meet AFC Bournemouth at Vitality Stadium on Sunday.
Saints make the short journey along the south coast on Sunday hoping to secure a vital three points in their final game before Christmas.
After a frustrating goalless draw at ten-man Stoke City on Wednesday night, Puel says he’s looking forward to coming up against the Cherries.
“A game away is always difficult to play, with a little stadium,” he said.
“Most important is the quality of the team, because they have good technical players and the profile of these players is technical.
“For every position is a good player and this is very important in the philosophy of this club. Southampton also try to have that.”
Puel continued: “We will play a good team, with good players and a good philosophy. I think it’s interesting.
“It will be different to the last game, with the situation with the red card and the team stay behind lines. It’s difficult to find a solution.
“I think on Sunday we can do a good game against a good opponent, who will try to play. This is interesting for the fans and for the football.”
And Puel recognises the importance of the game for the Saints fans. “We know it’s important for the supporters. The two cities are close,” he added.
“All this gives a good intensity to the game and a good atmosphere.
“Of course the result is important for the fans, but also for us. We need to show a good concentration.”
