Southampton Under-23s midfielder Josh Sims has been nominated for November's Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.

The 19-year-old has been shortlisted in the final four for the award, as a result of the PL2 managers nominating the best individual performance from each of their opposing teams.

Sims has enjoyed a fine month for the Under-23s, having impressed in the Checkatrade Trophy win over Crawley Town before then netting against a very experienced Chelsea side in the league.

Since then the Saints midfielder has broke into Claude Puel’s first team and made a blistering debut against Everton in the Premier League.

It took Sims just 43 seconds to tee up Charlie Austin for the match winner against the Toffees at St Mary's, before then featuring off the bench in the EFL Cup Quarter-Final win over Arsenal.

Sims is nominated alongside Everton’s Liam Walsh, Swansea City’s Oliver McBurnie and Liverpool’s Ben Woodburn.

The winner of the award will be announced on Friday 9th December.
