Davis: Let's make St Mary's a fortress

By SFC Media Sat 26 Nov Saints vs Everton

Steven Davis has urged Southampton to continue to make St Mary’s a place where teams fear coming, ahead of the visit of Everton on Sunday.

Claude Puel’s men have suffered just one defeat at home this season, which came against Chelsea, as they look to bounce back from their UEFA Europa League defeat to Sparta Praha.

“It was frustrating for us on Thursday as it would have give us a good opportunity to progress in the group, but it’s important we bounce back on Sunday,” said Davis

“It’s a good opportunity to do just that in front of the home fans.

“You want it to be a place where teams fear coming to and they know they’re going to be in for a tough game.

“We’ve shown that this season already and it’s important we continue that really and in front of our own fans we’re always wanting to win the games.”
