Cédric: It will be tough for both sides

By SFC Media Sat 19 Nov Saints vs Liverpool

Cédric admits Southampton face a challenging test against Liverpool today – but he says exactly the same is true for the Premier League leaders.

Saints host the Reds at St Mary’s this afternoon, as they look to end the visitors’ nine-game unbeaten run in the top-flight, but he says neither team will have it easy.

"Even last season they had a great team,” said Cédric. “They didn't get the best place maybe what they expected, but they have a great team and they have also a few new players and a lot of quality.

“We know about that, but the Premier League is like that. Every game is tough and they also know for sure it's going to be tough for them. We are prepared and I look forward to the game.”

One of Liverpool’s new players who Saints know very well is Sadio Mané, who moved from St Mary’s to Anfield last summer.

"Inside the pitch he is a very good player,” said Cédric. “He is going to be a player like the others from Liverpool, so it's the way all the team should play – normal.

“But after the game for sure we will have a talk. He's a nice guy, he's my friend and I hope he has a good game, but that Southampton wins of course.”
