Steven Davis completed 45 minutes as Northern Ireland suffered a 3-0 defeat at home to Croatia.
A positive result in the friendly would have seen Davis' side match their record run of 11 unbeaten matches at home, however Croatia were too strong for the hosts.
Michael O’Neill made seven changes to the starting side that beat Azerbaijan 4-0 in their previous outing, as Davis started on the bench and Rochdale’s Matthew Lund made his senior debut.
It didn’t take long for the visitors to take the lead. Mario Manzukic headed in from close range after just 9 minutes at Windsor Park, before Duje Čop doubled the lead before the break by smashing in following a corner on the 35th minute.
O’Neill then used the break to make a number of substitutions, and Saints midfielder Davis was introduced in place of Lund.
Davis could little to prevent Croatia’s third, though, as Leicester City’s Andrej Kramaric rifled a strike from the edge of the area into the top right corner to complete the evening's scoring.
Not to be outdone, the hosts continued to create chances and almost pulled one back in the final minute. Davis teed up Kyle Lafferty on the left of the box, but the Norwich City striker’s attempt was well saved by Ivan Vargić in the Croatia goal.
