Boufal’s Morocco held to goalless draw

By SFC Media Sat 12 Nov International

Sofiane Boufal featured for 85 minutes as his Morocco side played out a goalless draw with Ivory Coast in Marrakech.

This was the second game of their 2018 World Cup qualification campaign, with Boufal coming in from the start after making his return to the international scene following injury.

The Southampton man went close on a couple of occasions to breaking the deadlock before being replaced by Ismail El Haddad for the final few minutes of the match.

Group leaders Ivory Coast, who had beaten Mali 3-1 in their opening game, found Morocco a more stubborn opponent as the Atlas Lions ground out another scoreless contest after their 0-0 draw with Gabon last month.

Morocco also play a friendly against Togo on Tuesday at the Grande Stade in Marrakech.
