By SFC Media Sat 12 Nov Player of the Month

We take a statistical look at Oriol Romeu’s season so far, after he scooped back-to-back Player of the Month awards.

The midfielder was voted by Southampton fans as winner of the October prize, following up on his September success.

It has already been a campaign to remember for the Spaniard, and we take a look at some of the key stats behind his performances:

– Romeu’s average of three tackles per game in the Premier League is the highest in the Saints squad

– His 2.6 interceptions per match is the most of any Southampton player with five or more top-flight appearances this term

– Romeu is averaging 56.6 passes per Premier League game this season, which is only bettered by Maya Yoshida’s 62

– The midfielder boasts an impressive pass success rate of 88.8 per cent, behind only Pierre-Emile Højbjerg (90.6 per cent) at Saints

– Romeu has been an ever-present in the Premier League, starting all 11 matches this season, while he has also started all four Europa League games – with only Virgil van Dijk and Fraser Forster also having done that
