Yoshida helps Japan cruise to victory

By SFC Media Fri 11 Nov International

Southampton defender Maya Yoshida helped Japan to a 4-0 friendly win at home to Oman this morning.

The centre-half played 78 minutes in Kashima, as the Samurai Blue cruised to a comfortable victory.

Yuya Osako’s first-half double put the hosts firmly in command, and they added a third midway through the second period when Hiroshi Kiyotake converted from the penalty spot, before Yuki Kobayashi finished things off deep into added time.

The match acted as a warm-up for Japan’s home World Cup qualifier, against Saudi Arabia, next Tuesday.
