Redmond: Big crowd would be great

By SFC Media Tue 08 Nov International

Nathan Redmond believes supporters who attend England Under-21s' clash with their Italy counterparts, at St Mary's, should be in for a good night.

The Young Lions take to the pitch on Thursday for the first time since they booked their place at the Euro 2017 finals, with three Saints players in contention to feature on Thursday night.

Redmond is one of those, while he is joined in the squad by his club teammates James Ward-Prowse and Jack Stephens.

"It should be good," said Redmond. "It's a chance for an under-21 fixture to be played at a Premier League ground.

"Most fixtures aren't held there for our age group, so it will be good if the fans can come out and support us as they do for the regular Premier League games.

"I'm sure all the boys are excited and we're looking forward to it.

"I think all the support will be truly appreciated. We need as many fans as we can get there, so I'd be urging everyone to buy a ticket to get down and come and support us."
