Ward-Prowse hopes for big turnout

James Ward-Prowse is confident the England Under-21s can put on a memorable display for Southampton’s supporters this week.

The Young Lions will host Italy, at St Mary’s, on Thursday night, with Ward-Prowse set to captain the side.

It will be a special night for the Saints midfielder, and he is hoping for a good turnout, as England begin their preparations for next summer's Under-21 European Championship finals, in Poland.

"I think the more the better,” he said. “We need a good atmosphere and we want to show more people that we can play football and play in the right way.

“We're looking forward to it, I've spoken to a few of the lads and everyone's looking forward to coming down.

“I think it will be a real good spectacle for all the fans.”

Tickets for the match are still available, and can be purchased by clicking here.
