Van Dijk and Clasie in Dutch squad

Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk and Jordy Clasie have both been called into the Netherlands squad for their forthcoming games against Belgium and Luxembourg.

Saints’ Dutchmen will play a friendly against the Belgians on Wednesday 9th November in preparation for their 2018 Group A World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg a week on Sunday.

The Netherlands are keen to get back on track following a 1-0 defeat to France in Amsterdam last month.

A trip to Luxembourg is their final international match of the calendar year, and could see Danny Blind’s men close the gap at the top of their qualification group as they head towards the halfway stage.
