Internazionale boss Stefano Vecchi has called upon his players to express their ability against Southampton in the UEFA Europa League at St Mary’s.
The interim manager has stepped up from his role with Inter Primavera to take charge of the first-team after the club parted with Frank de Boer this week.
Despite some uncertainty, Vecchi insists his players are fully focused on the present ahead of an important clash in Group K.
“People talk about the future but we have to live in the here and now because there’s a lot riding on tomorrow.
“I’ll prepare for the game as best I can and I’ll be able to rely on very good players who have the ability to get us out of this tricky period.
“I like to take the game to the opposition. We’ll dig in and defend if we have to, but we’ll try to play our own game.
Vecchi added: “What will I ask my players? That they help me and they help each other. They’re very talented players and they need to find a way to express their abilities.
“I know the players and they’re all international class so there will be no big surprises for our opponents.
“We need to go out there with a few clear ideas in mind so that we can put them into practice.”
