Martina: We will fight again

By Gordon Simpson Sun 30 Oct Saints vs Chelsea

Cuco Martina is expecting another entertaining clash with Chelsea and is optimistic that Southampton can gain revenge for the defeat they suffered to the Blues at St Mary’s last season.

Two late goals from the London side saw them overcome a first-half goal from Shane Long, earning them a 2-1 victory last March.

That came after Saints had also come from behind to prevail 3-1 at Stamford Bridge earlier in the campaign.

Martina thinks the latest contest between the two in-form teams could be equally well-fought.

"We know that they won last time out [in the Premier League] and it will be tough, but we need to stick to our gameplan and fight again, and make it difficult for them, and win.

"It's always a good game. If you can perform well then that's good. Last year, we won away and lost at home, but I think we can change that and win at home.”
