Vote to help launch Saints cancer support scheme

By SFC Media Fri 28 Oct Saints Foundation

Saints Foundation needs your support to help pilot an innovative cancer support scheme for residents in Southampton.

As part of the Saints Foundation’s existing health and wellbeing provision, the charity is looking to deliver a cancer support scheme, called SaintsCan.

Utilising the appeal of Southampton FC, SaintsCan will create a greater awareness of the positive effects exercise can have on people undergoing treatment for cancer, delivering two bespoke exercise support classes each week that will engage patients from early diagnosis and continue towards remission.

Working closely with Southampton General Hospital and promoted through the Southampton FC fan base and local community, our passionate and expert health and wellbeing instructors will offer free exercise, support and advice for cancer patients.

Research has shown that tumour numbers are reported to decrease significantly faster in individuals performing regular exercise and with lowering body fat.

To kick-start this innovative project, the Foundation have applied for The Aviva Community Fund and now they need your support.

You can vote for this scheme to get a place in the Fund’s final, where a panel will decide the overall winner, by clicking here and registering your vote.
