Olufela Olomola says he can’t wait to see Sofiane Boufal in the top-flight, after his superb match winning strike against Sunderland.

The young forward has struck up a friendship with the club-record signing since his arrival from Lille in the summer, and partnered him in attack during the EFL Cup fourth round tie.

Olomola was one of the first players to congratulate his teammate on his match-winner, and he explained more on their relationship both on and off the field.

He said: “Me and Sofiane get on quite well and he’s a very good player as you can see from that goal.

“I can’t wait to see in the Premier League now. I’m delighted for him because he’s a real favourite in the changing room.

“He’s a great person who is always up for a laugh and joke, he gets on with anyway so I’m happy for him.”
