Oriol Romeu has praised the defensive framework of the side after his man of the match display against Manchester City.
Saints held firm to earn a point at Etihad Stadium, after Nathan Redmond’s first-half strike was cancelled out by Kelechi Iheanacho’s effort.
And Romeu reflected on a job well done, as Claude Puel’s men continued their unbeaten run in the Premier League.
He said: “I think we did well and we tried to stop them as much as we could. Defensively there was only one action where they scored but the whole game was good.
“In the second-half it was a bit harder but we have to be positive because we played a great game at a difficult stadium.
“It’s the same as any game where we are helping each other. It’s very important and the results have shown that.”
