Oriol Romeu says he is feeling the benefit of an extended run in the Southampton team this season.
The midfielder's impressive performances have gained recognition not just from manager Claude Puel and his colleagues, but also the fans, who voted him as the Under Armour Player of the Month for September.
Romeu has been an integral part of the side this term, helping them make a strong start in the Premier League, Europa League and EFL Cup.
"I think when you play and you're getting those minutes in the bag that's much better for everyone," he said.
"You feel more confident on the pitch and you feel that you know more what you're doing and you know your teammates a lot more, and I think, after that, the performances get better, so that's one of the reasons.
"Also, the way we're playing and the way everyone is training, we are all trying to do our best, and I think that comes through in the games."
Romeu added: "I think when everyone is playing well we all feel much better in the team and on the pitch, and we all enjoy it much more. I'm personally enjoying it there.
"Having minutes and having games I think makes you feel more confident and play much better. I'm still trying to improve a lot of things, and I still want to get better and help the team a lot more."
