By SFC Media Tue 04 Oct Jack Stephens

Saints defender Jack Stephens has been named in the England Under-21 squad to face Kazakhstan and Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Stephens joins Nathan Redmond, Matt Targett and James Ward-Prowse in Aidy Boothroyd’s 22-man selection.

Under-20s manager Boothroyd will take temporary charge after the interim appointment of Gareth Southgate to the senior team.

They travel to Aktobe to face Kazakhstan on Thursday 6th October (4pm BST), before hosting Bosnia & Herzegovina on Tuesday 11th October (3pm BST) at Walsall's Banks's Stadium.

The Three Lions head into the qualifiers knowing a result from either of the two fixtures will secure their spot at the European Championship finals in Poland.

Matt Targett has been ruled out of the away trip to Kazakhstan and will receive treatment at the club, but remains in contention for the fixture against Bosnia.
