Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri says he’s looking forward to a big match against Southampton on Sunday.
The Foxes, who beat FC Porto in the Champions League on Tuesday night, welcome Saints to King Power Stadium on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League.
Ranieri’s side, who famously won the title last season, have yet to find any real momentum domestically, but have impressed in Europe, and the Italian has called on his team to find consistency at home ahead of facing Saints.
“I’m looking forward to a big match against Southampton,” Ranieri told reporters ahead of Sunday’s meeting.
“I watched them on Thursday night and they played very well. They are playing well and they are confident.
“They move the ball well and are doing a very good job. For us, it’s important to show the same concentration levels. There is no magic formula.
“In the Premier League we have played so-so. In the Champions League we have been good, but I want consistency.”
Saints travelled back from their UEFA Europa League clash with Hapoel Be’er Sheva in Israel on Friday, but Ranieri doesn’t believe that will give the Foxes an advantage this weekend.
We played Manchester United and after two days we played Porto,” Ranieri added. “It’s the same for them this time.
“I watched the Puel system. They changed a lot of players, and they will change four or five players on Sunday and they will be fresh.”
