Hapoel game crucial, says Puel

By Gordon Simpson Thu 29 Sep Hapoel vs Saints

Claude Puel has underlined the importance of getting a positive result against Hapoel Be'er Sheva tonight.

Saints won their opening UEFA Europa League match, beating Sparta Praha 3-0 at home, and will now look to build on that in Israel.

They will face a Hapoel team that also won their initial fixture, away to Internazionale, meaning if either side emerges victorious tonight they will take real control of Group K.

"It's important to build our qualification," Puel said. "It's a mini championship and it's important every time to take points.

"At the start of the game for us, the thought is to win. Away or at home, always it's important to have this in our mind and to make all the necessary work to take a good result here.

"In order to see the positive of having six points, it is important to take these points and to play this game.

"It's a difficult game and it's important to respect this opponent, because they are very interesting, with very good players."
