Jordy Clasie says the new system implemented by boss Claude Puel is beginning to come to fore ahead of a visit to West Ham United on Sunday.
Clasie featured in two of the three victories last week, with Saints also picking up three clean sheets in the process.
Ahead of a first ever visit to the London Stadium, the Dutch midfielder is hoping to continue their rhythm.
He said: “Hopefully we’ve taken a lot of confidence from last week. I think we will see at the weekend and we hope we can take it further.
“We have always had the confidence but the most important thing is to get points and in the last two games we’ve got two wins and two clean sheets.
“In the first couple of weeks I think it was a bit difficult for every player to play the system.
“We had a lot of meetings about that but everyone agreed that we have to work on it and we’re very happy with the last few games.”
Clasie added: “We want to keep the rhythm which is important because we’ve got a lot of games in the coming weeks and months.
“Every three or four days we play a game so we need to stay fit and keep the confidence as well getting points.”
