Southampton will take on Sunderland in the fourth round of the EFL Cup after beating Crystal Palace at St Mary's on Wednesday night.

Saints, who last faced the Black Cats in this competition during the 2013/14 campaign, will welcome David Moyes' side to St Mary's in late October.

The tie is to be played the week commencing 24th October, with a kick-off time and ticketing details to be confirmed in due course.

Claude Puel's men progressed to the fourth round with a 2-0 win against Crystal Palace, as goals from Charlie Austin and Jake Hesketh saw off Alan Pardew's men.

Sunderland meanwhile knocked out Championship side Queens Park Rangers to set up a trip to St Mary's next month.
