Thursday’s packed edition of the magazine has Steven Davis as the cover star, with the midfielder discussing his European experience to-date at club level and what he hopes to achieve at Southampton this season.
Davis was a finalist in the competition during its previous guise of the UEFA Cup in 2008 with Glasgow Rangers, and hopes his knowledge will benefit his current teammates at St Mary’s.
Another man with European experience elsewhere is Nathan Redmond, and we caught up with the frontman about his debut in the competition five short years ago.
With a Czech side in town, we turned to former Saints man Rudi Skácel for his verdict on Thursday’s opponents, as well as what he’s expecting from the group stages. The midfielder who is now back in Scotland with Raith Rovers, also recalls the rivalry he enjoyed with Sparta in his homeland.
Skácel’s former teammate at St Mary’s, Kelvin Davis, also opens up on his new role at the club and describes his pride at seeing the club break new ground in the European game.
SAINTS columnist Franny Benali has penned his thoughts on what to expect and describes the excitement he’s feeling about the competition.
There’s an in-depth look at opponents Praha, as well as tactical insight on them as well as new Southampton signing Sofiane Boufal thanks to Sam Tighe from Bleacher Report.
What’s more, you can read the views of first team manager Claude Puel and captain José Fonte, as well as discover the latest news from the academy and Saints Foundation.
We’ve also previewed Southampton’s Europa League group and looked at the latest stories from across the competition to bring you right up to-date.
