Nine Southampton players could be in action for their countries today, as the international week reaches its climax.
Maya Yoshida is set to be the first in action, for Japan’s home game against Syria, in Saitama, which doubles as a 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2019 Asian Cup qualifier (11.30am BST).
Then it will be the turn of Sadio Mané, who is with Senegal for their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier away to Niger (3pm BST).
A host of Saints stars could then be in action this evening, in a series of European friendlies.
José Fonte and Cédric are with Portugal, as they host Belgium in a match that was initially due to have been played in Brussels, but following last week’s terrorist attacks in the city has been moved to Leiria (7.45pm BST).
Elsewhere, Shane Long is in the Republic of Ireland squad for their clash with Slovakia, at Aviva Stadium, in Dublin (7.45pm BST).
Fellow Saints striker Graziano Pellè will also be hoping to see action as Italy visit the Allianz Arena, in Munich, to take on Germany (7.45pm BST).
Rounding off the international action for the week when it comes to Saints is Fraser Forster, Virgil van Dijk and Jordy Clasie, who will all hope to feature when Netherlands visit Wembley Stadium to take on England (8pm BST).
