Four Southampton stars are preparing to take part in international action today.

First up is Maya Yoshida, who is due to play for Japan in their home game against Afghanistan (10.30am GMT).

The match in Saitama doubles as a 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2019 Asian Cup qualifier.

The eight group winners and four best runners-up will qualify for the Asian Cup finals, in United Arab Emirates, in three years’ time, while they will also advance to the third stage of FIFA World Cup qualification.

Afganistan is Japan’s penultimate match in the current stage, before they host second-placed Syria next Tuesday.

Elsewhere, Steven Davis and Lloyd Isgrove could come face-to-face, as Northern Ireland travel to Wales for a friendly match (7.45pm GMT).

Both sides have qualified for UEFA EURO 2016 and will be looking to get their preparations off to a strong start at Cardiff City Stadium.

Also in action this evening is Graziano Pellè, who is with Italy for their friendly encounter with Spain, at Stadio Friuli, in Udine (7.45pm GMT), as they also start to build-up towards this summer's tournament in France.
