Southampton manager Ronald Koeman says he is once again pleased to have seen so many of his players depart for international duty.
A total of 17 players from the club are away representing their countries during the break in the domestic schedule, and Koeman is delighted to see such a high level of recognition.
"It’s always good to have a lot of international players," he told Southampton's official YouTube channel. "Of course, they will be out for ten days – 15, 16 players will be out for the international break and that’s good, because that means the national coaches still believe in the Southampton players."
Koeman also believes the week will be beneficial for all his players, and especially those set to play in UEFA EURO 2016 this summer.
"I think it’s a good experience for players to be part of a national team," the Saints boss said.
"Some of them go to the Euros this summer and it’s important to be part of that, because that means the national coach has real confidence in the player, and that’s good, because that’s all about the experience they need to be a good player."
