Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has been nominated for the Barclays Premier League Manager of the Month for the second time in a row.
After winning the January award for his side’s displays during the opening month of the year, Koeman has been shortlisted once again following two wins and a draw during February.
With three clean sheets also coming during the month, goalkeeper Fraser Forster has been shortlisted for the Player of the Month award.
Heading into the month on the back of three straight wins, Koeman’s side kicked February off with a 0-0 draw against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium.
Goalkeeper Forster was at his brilliant best, denying Arsène Wenger’s side time and time again to extend his run of clean sheets since returning from injury to four games.
The unbeaten run was then extended further as ten-man Saints beat West Ham United 1-0 at St Mary’s, with Forster again producing a number of excellent stops to keep the Hammers at bay.
Saints’ stopper then surpassed ten hours without his goal being breached as Koeman’s side won 1-0 away to Swansea City thanks to Shane Long’s solitary goal.
The month ended on a sour note for Saints however, as Forster’s run without conceding came to an end at 708 minutes in the 2-1 loss to Chelsea.
Koeman is up against Leicester City’s Claudio Ranieri, Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino and Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink for the Manager of the Month award.
Forster is the only goalkeeper on the six-man player shortlist. The Saints stopper is up against strikers Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy, midfielders Willian and Christian Eriksen and defender Robert Huth.
The winners of both awards will be announced at 6am on Friday 11th March.
