There were two wins and a defeat for Southampton's three loanees in Football League action this weekend.
Jordan Turnbull helped Swindon Town make it three games unbeaten on Saturday as the Robins beat Blackpool 3-2 at the County Ground.
The result lifted Swindon to 15th in the League 1 table – nine points clear of the relegation zone. Nicky Ajose grabbed a hat-trick to see off the Tangerines, who found the net through Tom Aldred and Danny Philliskirk.
Elsewhere in League 1, Lloyd Isgrove played an hour as Barnsley bounced back from defeat to Gillingham by beating local rivals Doncaster Rovers 1-0.
Ashley Fletcher replaced Isgrove with 30 minutes to go and it was the Manchester United loanee who grabbed the winning goal in the 81st minute, tapping home from close range.
The Tykes now sit tenth in the table, seven points off the play-offs, and travel to Bury on Tuesday night looking to make it back-to-back wins.
Jason McCarthy’s Wycombe Wanderers were unable to make it three straight wins as they suffered a narrow defeat away to League 2 leaders Northampton Town.
Danny Rose scored the only goal of the game just after the hour mark, firing home from Ricky Holmes’s cross, leaving McCarthy and his teammates eighth in the table with 15 games to play.
Winger Sam McQueen could be in action on Monday night, as Southend United welcome table-topping Burton Albion to Roots Hall. The game, which kicks off at 7.45pm GMT, can be watched live on Sky Sports.
