Seager returns to Saints after injury

Southampton Football Club can confirm that Ryan Seager’s loan move to Crewe Alexandra has been cut short, after the striker suffered a knee injury this week.

Seager, 20, linked up with the League 1 side on a one-month youth deal at the end of January, making four appearances for the Railwaymen.

He scored his first professional goal in Tuesday night’s 2-2 draw away to Rochdale, netting a first-half equaliser with a smart, low finish, only to see his evening come to an end minutes later when he was carried off injured.

Seager now returns to Southampton, where he will undergo treatment and begin his recovery.
