Get the lowdown ahead of Southampton's Barclays Premier League game against West Ham United at St Mary's.

Southampton will be hoping to extend their unbeaten run to five games when West Ham United visit St Mary’s on Saturday.

Ronald Koeman’s men have won three and drawn one of their previous four fixtures, keeping a clean sheet in all of those encounters.

Last time out, Saints drew 0-0 with title-chasing Arsenal at the Emirates, while Koeman’s side head into the game with three straight wins at home in the Premier League.

West Ham head to the south coast on the back of a 2-0 win against relegation-threatened Aston Villa on Tuesday night. Their previous away fixture ended in a 2-1 defeat at Newcastle United in mid-January.

The two sides met just last December, when the Hammers came out on top thanks to second-half goals from former Saints Michail Antonio and striker Andy Carroll.

Ronald Koeman says Steven Davis and Charlie Austin will both be in the matchday squad for Saturday’s game, but Matt Targett will miss out through injury. Jay Rodriguez and Florin Gardos remain absent.

Andy Carroll could return from injury for the Hammers, while Emmanuel Emineke could make his debut. Diafra Sakho and Manuel Lanzini are out, but Angelo Ogbonna could return after illness.

Dimitri Payet has been somewhat of a revelation for West Ham United since his summer move from French side Marseille.

The 28 year-old, who joined on a five-year deal in the summer, has hit the ground running in the Barclays Premier League.

The French international has made 21 appearances for Slaven Bilic’s side this season, scoring six goals.

Payet missed out against Saints when the two sides met back in December through injury, but he has returned to help West Ham to four wins in their last seven matches.

Southampton will be looking to record a fourth-straight home win against the Hammers, while also extending their clean sheet run at home to four.

West Ham currently sit second in the Premier League form guide, having picked up 13 points from their previous six fixtures.

West Ham have not won home and away against Southampton in a single season since the 2000/01 campaign.

Southampton have won only one of their last eight meetings against West Ham United (W1 D4 L3).

Since his return from injury, Fraser Forster has saved all 12 of the shots he has faced and is yet to concede a goal since making his comeback.

The last four games between Southampton and West Ham United at St Mary’s have all ended in draws. Last season, the two sides played out a 0-0 draw. The last time Saints won at St Mary’s was in 2011, when Jos Hooiveld scored the only goal in a 1-0 win.
