Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has won the Barclays Premier League Manager of the Month award for January.
For the second year running, Koeman has been named as the top-flight’s best boss for January having won three out of four games, including a 1-0 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
In winning the award, the Dutchman becomes the first Southampton boss to be named Premier League Manager of the Month on three separate occasions.
Following defeat to Norwich City in the opening game of the year, Saints returned to winning ways thanks to a 2-0 victory against Watford before beating West Bromwich Albion 3-0.
A positive month ended with victory at Old Trafford for the second year in a row, as Charlie Austin headed home on his debut to seal a 1-0 success for Koeman’s side.
Speaking of his third award during his time with Saints, Koeman said: “I’m very pleased because it’s always nice to win awards.
“It’s of course a personal prize, but it’s great for the whole technical staff, all the players, the people in the club and the fans that we win again.
“It’s my third Manager of the Month award and that’s a great feeling.”
Virgil van Dijk, who was shortlisted for the Premier League Player of the Month award, just missed out on making it a double celebration for Saints.
