Ronald Koeman says Steven Davis will miss out again against Arsenal on Tuesday evening.
The Saints boss confirmed the midfielder, who was absent at Old Trafford as Koeman’s side beat Manchester United, will not be ready for the trip to the Emirates.
Koeman will also wait to decide on whether Graziano Pellè is included in the travelling party as Saints look to make it four straight wins.
“Still the same players are out – Steven Davis is still out with not a big hamstring problem,” Koeman told youtube.com/southamptonfc.
“He needs some more time. He’s not available for tomorrow (Tuesday).
“Jay Rodriguez is also not available. He’s coming back and is close to being part of the training sessions with the rest of the team.
“Florin Gardos is still out and Graziano Pellè is better than he was. We have to make a decision if he’s really 100 per cent to play.”
Charlie Austin came off the bench to make his debut in that win at Old Trafford, and Koeman says he could well be included from the start against the Gunners.
“That’s possible, because he showed his quality. If he’s really 100 per cent fit after the period he was out before, then it’s a possibility he will start,” Koeman concluded.
