Young defender Jordan Turnbull has completed a season-long loan move to Sky Bet League 1 side Swindon Town.

20-year-old Turnbull rejoins the Robins having spent the 2014/15 campaign on loan at the County Ground, helping Mark Cooper’s side reach the League 1 Play-off final.

Turnbull, who extended his contract with Saints until 2018 on the back of his excellent performances for Swindon last season, moves back to Wiltshire ahead of the new campaign getting under way on Saturday.

The defender made 52 appearances for Cooper’s side last season, scoring once, and playing in the play-off final against Preston North End at Wembley. He also represented England Under-20s against their USA counterparts in March.

Turnbull featured twice for Ronald Koeman's side in pre-season this summer, scoring in the 10-0 win against Dutch amateur side KVV Quick '20.

Ahead of his proposed move back to the County Ground, Turnbull played for the Robins in their pre-season friendly against Premier League side Liverpool on Sunday.
