Jake Sinclair has joined Scottish Championship side Hibernian on a season-long loan.

The Saints Academy graduate joins Hibs with a view to securing valuable first-team experience throughout the 2014/15 campaign.

Sinclair, who penned a new one-year contract with Southampton in July, made his senior debut in August last season when he came off the bench in a 5-1 Capital One Cup victory over Barnsley.

The development squad youngster has been with the club since the age of eight and made his way up the youth ranks alongside James Ward-Prowse, Harrison Reed and Sam McQueen.

He featured regularly for Saints Under-21s last season – scoring five goals in the process – and started in their season-opening draw with Fulham last month but was substituted early in the match due to an ankle injury.
